Mary Hargis from Lynchburg told officials from the Virginia Lottery that she was heading home from the late shift when she stopped at the Sheetz store on Timberlake Road to grab some treats for her children.
Hargis bought a box of donuts for her kids and a $10 Print ‘n Play X the Money lottery ticket for herself. The ticket awarded her a prize of $100,000.
“It feels unreal,” said Hargis. “I never in a million years thought I’d be cashing in a winning lottery ticket today!”
Hargis added that the money will go towards buying a new car and taking care of her family.
