Dear Madridistas,
Today I addresses you with a lump in my throat and a heart full of mixed feelings. It’s hard to put into words everything I’m feeling right now, but I think it’s necessary to do so to close this chapter of my life to the degree it deserves.
From a very young age, when I was just taking my first steps in football, I dreamed of wearing this glorious white jersey. Real Madrid became my passion, my dream and my most precious goal. And thanks to the trust placed in me by the club, I have had the privilege of making that dream come true during these wonderful years.
I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to Real Madrid, the president, the board of directors, the coaches and all the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this club such a special institution. Your dedication and professionalism have been essential in my development as a player and as a person.
But I cannot forget the true raison of Real Madrid: it’s incredible fans. You are the soul and engine of this club. Your passion, your encouragement and your unconditional love are what drive us to give everything in every game and to experience unforgettable nights that I will always take with me.
I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude to each one of you. I will always carry your support in my heart and I will remember with emotion every time I stepped onto the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu, which from the first day I stepped on it I nicknamed it “My garden”.
I also can’t stop mentioning my teammates, together we have lived moments of glory, fought in every battle and celebrated unforgettable victories. Sharing a dressing room with world-class players has been a privilege and an honor. Your dedication, professionalism and friendship have left an indelible mark on my life. Thank you for being my football family.
However, the time comes when I have to make a difficult decision. I have decided to embark on a new course in my career in search of a project where I can reach new goals.
Although it saddens me to leave this stage behind, I am proud and satisfied to have always given my best, overcoming the difficulties that have come our way and leaving my mark on the club, winning 17 titles with unforgettable moments for everyone.
Thank you, dear Madrid fans, for all your unconditional support. We will meet again somewhere on this wonderful path of football.
