According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli is prepared to sell Barcelona’s target, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, if the Georgian player does not sign a contract extension in the coming months.
The latest report from Gazzetta states that Napoli will not improve their contract offer of €6 million in wages, including bonuses, and if Kvara rejects it, he will be sold next summer.
The 23-year-old still has a long-term agreement with the club, as his contract expires in June 2027. Kvara is currently earning €1.5 million per season, a figure he agreed to in 2022 when he joined Stadio Maradona for just €13 million.
The report highlights that the main issue in the negotiations between the two parties is a release clause. Napoli wants to set it at over €100 million, while the player’s agent prefers to keep it at €80 million.
Barcelona and PSG are among the clubs interested in the Georgian, with reports from Spain claiming that Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already met with the player’s representatives this month.
“We want to reward his journey at Napoli because he deserves it,” said Napoli’s director, Giovanni Manna, during the 2024 Social Football Summit on Tuesday.
