Supercomputer predicts Premier League winner after Man City’s dramatic victory over Arsenal

The clash between Manchester City and Arsenal over the weekend was considered an “early final” for the Premier League title, and the result did not disappoint in terms of drama.

Pep Guardiola’s City secured an important 2–1 victory at the Etihad, delivering a strong blow to Arsenal in the title race. With this win, the gap has narrowed to just three points, and the race now looks like a direct duel until the end of the season.

However, according to Opta’s “supercomputer” predictions, Arsenal remains the favorite for the title. The Gunners have a 72.97% chance of finishing in first place, while Manchester City has only 27.03%, with a projected difference of two points at the end.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is practically certain of a place in the Champions League, with a 98.64% chance of qualification following their win against Chelsea.

In the race for European spots, Liverpool and Aston Villa have strengthened their positions. A decisive moment came from Virgil van Dijk, who scored in the 100th minute against Everton, creating an important advantage for Liverpool.

Chelsea’s poor form at this stage of the season could cost them dearly, as the London side seriously risks missing out on all European competitions. In the same zone, Brentford and Bournemouth are in a tight race, with the latter even having chances to climb higher in the standings.

As for survival, Leeds United has breathed a sigh of relief after their win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, creating an eight-point gap from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers are now considered relegated, with a 100% probability according to predictions.

The third team expected to go down is still unclear. Currently, Tottenham Hotspur is in that position after a dramatic draw against Brighton & Hove Albion, while West Ham United sits just above them and remains in serious danger, with around a 38.97% chance of relegation.

The upcoming week could be decisive, especially for City, who face Burnley — a match that could temporarily take them to the top and turn the title race into an even fiercer battle until the end.
