Kylian Mbappé has received from MARCA, as the Spanish representative of ESM (European Sports Media), the prestigious “Golden Shoe” trophy, which recognizes the top goal scorer across Europe’s domestic leagues for the 2024–25 season.
Although the season was not particularly successful on a collective level, the Frenchman had a brilliant finish to the campaign, climbing up the European scoring charts and finishing ahead of Viktor Gyökeres and Mohamed Salah, to become Europe’s top scorer with 31 goals in La Liga.
To reach this total, Mbappé scored his goals over 2,915 minutes played in 34 matches.
With this achievement, the Real Madrid striker succeeds Harry Kane, the 2023–24 winner of the award, and Erling Haaland, who claimed it in 2022–23.
At the same time, Mbappé becomes the successor to Cristiano Ronaldo as the last Real Madrid player to win the “Golden Shoe,” a trophy the Portuguese star lifted in the 2014–15, 2013–14 (shared with Luis Suárez), and 2010–11 seasons.
