The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) recently received two coffins from the Red Cross containing the bodies of two deceased hostages. Hamas handed the bodies over to the Red Cross in the southern part of Gaza.
Hamas did not identify the hostages but stated that the bodies were discovered on Tuesday. After the Israeli army takes possession of the remains, they will be transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv for identification.
Hamas has already released 20 Israeli hostages alive and handed over the remains of 14 others in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, under the ceasefire agreement that came into effect between Israel and Hamas on October 10, based on a phased plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
