Trump cancels Tomahawk missile delivery after phone call with Putin; details of meeting with Zelensky revealed

U.S. media reported today on the meeting President Trump held yesterday with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, describing it as tense.

According to reports, Trump informed Zelensky on Friday that he has no intention of providing long-range Tomahawk missiles — at least for now — two sources familiar with the meeting told Axios.

Zelensky had hoped to leave Washington with commitments for new weaponry for Ukraine, but found Trump in a completely different state of mind just one day after he had a long phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump made it clear that his priority now is diplomacy and that he believes supplying Tomahawk missiles could undermine that effort, the sources said.

One of the sources described the meeting as “not easy,” while the other simply said it was “bad.”

“No one shouted, but Trump was firm,” according to the first source.
“Trump made several strong statements during the meeting, and at times, it became somewhat emotional,” the second source added.
