Over one million tickets sold for the 2026 World Cup

In a statement on its official website, FIFA announced that it has sold more than one million tickets for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

“This is an extraordinary testament that the most ambitious and inclusive FIFA World Cup in history is truly inspiring the world,” said Gianni Infantino. “Tickets have been purchased by fans from more than 200 countries and territories, including our outstanding host nations — Canada, Mexico, and the United States.”

France ranks 10th among the countries that have bought the most tickets, in a list dominated by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The 2026 World Cup, which will be the first to feature 48 teams, will include 104 matches, compared to 64 in previous editions.

The number of tickets sold for the 2026 edition is expected, logically, to surpass that of previous tournaments. Following the pre-sale, the next phase of ticket sales — the first open to the general public — will begin on Monday, October 27.

Here are the “Top 10” countries that purchased the most tickets for the 2026 World Cup during the pre-sale phase:

1 – United States
2 – Canada
3 – Mexico
4 – England
5 – Germany
6 – Brazil
7 – Spain
8 – Colombia
9 – Argentina
10 – France

The figures have not been disclosed.
