Trump, Putin, and Zelensky – Alaska Could Become the Stage for the Most Unusual Diplomatic Meeting

If the plan is approved, Alaska could become the setting for one of the most unusual and significant diplomatic moments in recent years.

The White House is considering an invitation for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to travel to Alaska next week, at the same time that U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The news comes from NBC News, citing a senior U.S. official, who said the idea is part of a broader diplomatic strategy to reaffirm Washington’s support for Kyiv, even as Trump engages in direct talks with Moscow.

The Trump–Putin meeting is planned to take place in a secluded location in Alaska, chosen for security and symbolic reasons, given its position between the two countries.

A Bold Move
It is not yet known whether Zelensky will meet with Trump and Putin together or in separate meetings.

According to sources, this step could serve as a strong political signal that the United States is not leaving Ukraine out of the peace process.

However, it could also raise tensions with the Kremlin, which has consistently opposed Washington’s direct involvement in Kyiv’s positioning.

Next Week’s Agenda
Talks between Trump and Putin are expected to focus on a potential ceasefire framework, the future of contested territories, and a reset of U.S.–Russia relations.

The White House has not yet given an official comment on the invitation to Zelensky, and the final decision has not been made.

If the plan is approved, Alaska could become the stage for one of the most unusual and significant diplomatic moments in recent years—bringing the leaders of the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine into the same strategic theater, if not the same room.
