Trump Holds Phone Call with Putin, Says Russian President Vowed to Respond to Ukrainian Attack on Military Bases

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he held a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, during which they spoke for one hour and fifteen minutes.

During the call, they discussed the Ukrainian drone attack on Russian bombers deep inside Russian territory, which resulted in the destruction of over 40 bombers, Telegrafi reports.

According to a post by Trump on the social network Truth Social, Putin vowed to respond to the attack carried out on the Russian military air bases. Trump described the conversation as “good,” but emphasized that it was not one that would lead to immediate peace.

This marks the second time the American president has spoken on the phone with the Russian leader within a month. The first conversation took place on May 19.

That call lasted two hours, and Trump had also described it as a “good” conversation.
