Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has spoken for the first time about drone attacks in Russia.
He just posted on social media, calling today’s operation “an absolutely excellent result” and “an achievement accomplished solely by Ukraine.”
“One year, six months, and nine days from the beginning of planning to the effective execution,” he continued.
“Our longest-running operation. Our people involved in the preparation of the operation withdrew from Russian territory in time.”
Zelensky said he met with the head of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), General Vasyl Maliuk, and asked him to disclose the details and results of the operation to the public.
“Of course, not everything can be revealed at this moment, but these are Ukrainian actions that will undoubtedly be in the history books,” he added.
“Ukraine is defending itself, and rightly so – we are doing everything so that Russia feels the need to end this war. Russia started this war; Russia must end it. Glory to Ukraine!” writes BBC.
