Diego Armando Maradona Sinagra, the son of football legend Diego Armando Maradona, has made strong statements regarding the ongoing trial in Argentina over his father’s death. In an interview with the Spanish program El Chiringuito, he directly accused the doctors and nurses who treated Maradona, blaming them for his murder.
“I am closely following the trial, and it is a very difficult period for our family. Hard times are ahead, but we are prepared,” said Maradona Jr., who is currently the coach of the Spanish club UD Ibarra. He supported the theory of lawyer Fernando Burlando, stating that his father was “devilishly murdered” in what he called “the house of horror.”
According to him, the doctors failed to intervene in time and did nothing to save Maradona. “If he had been properly treated, he would still be alive,” he emphasized. He also raised suspicions that, beyond medical negligence, there was mismanagement of his father’s wealth. “I am convinced that not only did they fail to take care of him, but they also stole his money,” he added.
The trial over Maradona’s death has drawn international media attention and is expected to reveal whether the doctors and nurses were responsible for the improper treatment that led to the passing of one of football’s greatest icons.
