Beckham amazed by Messi: On his first day, he arrived at 6:50, training started at 10:00

David Beckham, owner of Inter Miami, has revealed how Lionel Messi left him surprised on his first day with the Major League Soccer team.

Beckham sat down with Rio Ferdinand to talk about Messi after his move to Inter Miami from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023.

He said that if he had to describe Messi in one word, it would be “winner.” He also emphasized Messi’s extraordinary work ethic. Beckham said: “One thing Leo does very well is to teach. He is great at teaching young players coming from the academy. He doesn’t make any player feel below his level. He stays after training to teach the young kids and goes to watch academy games. He’s the first in the gym and the last to leave.”

The 49-year-old recalled Messi’s first day at training, mentioning how the Argentine arrived several hours early, reports Goal.com, according to Klankosova.

“He arrived at around 6:50 in the morning. There was no one else at the facility, except for one person who let him in. The team wasn’t scheduled to train until 10.”

When asked if Messi is the most dedicated player he has ever known, he responded: “At his level, without a doubt. To continue to be as he is now is incredible.”

Beckham’s words make sense when looking at Messi’s achievements, having scored more than 850 goals, won a World Cup with Argentina, many Champions League titles, and several Ballon d’Or awards, continuing to perform at a high level at 37 years old. None of this would have been possible without being an extraordinary professional.
