Reports from Turkey claim that Hakan Calhanoglu has asked Inter to allow him to join Galatasaray this summer.
The Inter midfielder wants to return to Turkey and, according to the Turkish newspaper Sabahspor, he has informed the Nerazzurri management of his desire to leave.
“I joined this club as a free agent four years ago and I have always given my best,” he reportedly said.
“I want to continue my career at Galatasaray and I ask for your understanding. Let me go back home,” Calhanoglu is said to have declared.
Earlier this month, Football Italia reported that Inter have no intention of letting the 31-year-old go for a low fee, given that his contract runs until June 2027.
Meanwhile, Inter have already signed Petar Sucic for the midfield and have made an offer for Lazio’s Nicolo Rovella, but the capital club is not willing to sell him for less than his €50 million release clause..

Another unusual sign that Calhanoglu aims to move to Galatasaray came from the player’s barber, who posted a photo with him on Sunday, captioned: “Is it happening?”
At present, Calhanoglu is injured and has not taken part in the Club World Cup matches so far.
