The magazine Forbes has published its list of the highest-paid footballers in the world, highlighting that many of them have been attracted by the lucrative contracts offered by the Saudi league.
Former Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo confirms his place at the top of the rankings, currently earning $285 million (around €263 million), of which $220 million comes from Al Nassr and $65 million from other sources of income.
In second place is Lionel Messi of Inter Miami. The Argentine star earns $135 million. In third place is Neymar, the Al-Hilal forward who earns $110 million per year, followed by Karim Benzema with a salary of $104 million at Al-Ittihad. Kylian Mbappé, with $90 million, ranks as the highest-paid European in this ranking by the renowned financial magazine.
In the “Top 10” are Manchester City’s Erling Haaland ($60 million), Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior ($55 million), Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah ($53 million), Al-Nassr’s Sadio Mané ($52 million), and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne ($39 million).
