Real Madrid has completed its final preparations before the match against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final, which will be played tomorrow (June 1) at ‘Wembley,’ starting at 21:00.
Luka Modric spoke to journalists at the pre-match press conference, joining Carlo Ancelotti and Nacho.
‘We are very happy to be here and we have a lot of confidence and calmness to face the most important match of the season,’ Modric initially said.
If Real Madrid wins on Saturday, Luka Modric, Nacho, Dani Carvajal, and Toni Kroos will equal the legend Paco Gento with six Champions League titles each.
‘It was unimaginable to think that we would reach this moment, but we are here and we are enjoying this moment. Hopefully, we will take another step as a team. Having six Champions League titles would be wonderful,’ the Croatian expressed.
Furthermore, Modric spoke about how the preparations for this match have gone and the fact that Real Madrid is considered the favorite.
‘It wasn’t the calmest week possible. Everyone thinks we are the favorites, but we don’t think so. It’s a 50-50 match and we are playing against a team that had a fantastic season. We have trained very well.’
‘We have shown many times that when things don’t go well, we keep fighting, but as Nacho says, we prefer to win,’ the Croatian concluded.”
