It’s a list of players that seems to emerge every summer concerning Barcelona, as they once again enter a summer looking to make sales.
The list of players for whom the Blaugranas will not consider offers, or the “untouchables”. This year, this list consists of just five footballers, and Barcelona will be open to selling all other players.
According to Sport, this year, this list includes Pedri, Gavi, Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsi. All four make sense as young players with the potential to become the best in the world in their positions, and they hold the hopes of Barcelona fans dreaming of a brighter future.
The fifth name is also just 19 years old, but his ‘untransferable’ tag comes as a surprise: Mikayil Faye. The Senegalese defender joined from Croatian second division side NK Kustosija for €1.5 million last summer and has impressed for Barca Atletic under Rafael Marquez, but he is yet to make his debut for the first team.
The plan with Faye is to increase his salary and promote him to the first team this summer, with the aim of making him one of their key players in the years to come. A left-footed center-back, which would suggest that Cubarsi and Faye are seen as the future central defensive pairing.
Faye seemed like a prime candidate for a quick sale this summer, as a player with whom they could turn a big profit and with much interest. The fact that he has yet to debut for the first team means they could do this without impacting the first team, but perhaps this only strengthens the idea that Ronald Araujo will leave this summer.
