Henderson regrets: I made a mistake with the transfer to Saudi Arabia, but I learned a lot

The Saudi league is progressing, but I didn’t feel comfortable. I regretted moving there.” Midfielder Jordan Henderson, in an interview with Dutch media, spoke about his brief experience in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ettifaq’s jersey.

With this Saudi team, he made 19 appearances in the first part of this season before returning to Europe to wear Ajax’s jersey. The former Liverpool player said: “At that time, I believed it was an important decision.

I felt it was the right thing to do, but I was wrong. In life, these choices can be called regrets or mistakes, but they are mistakes only if you don’t learn from them. Instead, I learned a lot about Saudi Arabia.

I have no bad words to say about anyone; I left there with friends whom I will always talk to. In the end, however, it didn’t go as both parties wanted. Now I’m happy here, being part of the Ajax project.”
