According to L’Équipe, dissatisfaction is growing within Real Madrid regarding the duo of Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior, with some board members reportedly pushing the idea that one of the two stars should be sold.
Although they are considered among the best footballers in the world at the moment, their partnership has not worked as expected, while “Los Blancos” finished the season without winning a major trophy.
The report highlights that Mbappé’s attitude, lack of commitment in defensive duties, and behavior perceived as self-centered have not been well received by a significant part of the dressing room, which — according to the same source — appears to be more aligned with Vinicius.
However, Vinicius is not without issues either, as L’Équipe mentions difficulties in his relationships with coaches, including a clash with Xabi Alonso, which reportedly influenced the Spaniard’s departure from his position earlier in the season.
Despite the rumors and internal tensions, both players continue to be viewed as key pillars of Real Madrid’s long-term project, with president Florentino Pérez strongly backing them.
Vinicius’ situation also remains delicate from a contractual standpoint: his current deal expires next year, and negotiations for a renewal are reportedly stalled due to high financial demands. Nevertheless, Pérez is said to be determined to tie the Brazilian star down to a new long-term contract.
Meanwhile, Mbappé recently reiterated that he has no intention of leaving Madrid.
