Brazil have reached an agreement with Carlo Ancelotti to become their next coach.
The Real Madrid coach has been heavily linked with the job since Tite stepped down as coach after the 2022 World Cup.
The 64-year-old strategist has refused to be drawn into speculation about his future despite his deal with Real expires at the end of the season.
That means he will be free to talk to other teams in January as he enters the final six months of his contract.
Brazil are believed to have contacted Ancelotti and their governing body, the CBF, have received a written agreement from the Italian, reports The Athletic.
Real Madrid could try to intervene by offering Ancelotti a new contract – as long as he performs well this season.
Los Blancos finished the 2022-23 season without a trophy, so the Italian is under pressure to win La Liga and the Champions League.

Sources close to the club suggest that Ancelotti has discussed a new deal, but it appears that he is preparing Brazil as an alternative.
Reports in Brazil claim that the CBF understand they have “legal guarantees” that Ancelotti will join them.
