Coach Julian Nagelsmann was suddenly sacked by Bayern Munich on Thursday night. He was succeeded by Thomas Tuchel just a day after news of the sacking was announced.
One of Bayern’s best players, Joshua Kimmich, is currently engaged in the German national team and these days he is also answering questions about Nagelsmann.
Journalists want to find out from the Bayern players what the atmosphere was like in the dressing room before Nagelsmann was sacked.
Some media speculated that he had lost the confidence of the players, but today Leon Goretzka and then Kimmich denied this.
Were the players unhappy with Nagelsmann? I wouldn’t really say. He didn’t miss the locker room.
“He had to leave because we weren’t winning enough. We won just five of our last ten games in the Bundesliga. We were not unhappy with Nagelsmann, we were surprised when he was fired,” Kimmich said in an interview with TZ.
