PSG’s four worst signings since Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s arrival

Year after year, Paris Saint-Germain is getting big hurdles in the Champions League.

The Parisians have spent big on signing top players, but here we look at the four worst signings they’ve made since becoming one of the most powerful clubs on the planet.

Grzegorz Krychowiak:

The Polish midfielder arrived at the French side in the summer of 2016 after an excellent performance at Sevilla. PSG paid almost 28 million euros to acquire his services, but Krychowiak never showed the same level as at Sevilla.

Yohan Cabaye:

The French player was one of the biggest figures at Newcastle United and in January 2014 the Parisians decided to pay 25 million euros for his signature. His level at the Parc des Princes was never the same as at the English club.

Ben Arfa:

Another player who did not shine was Hatem Ben Arfa, who arrived at PSG in the summer of 2016 from Nice. The French footballer has arrived for free, but has not stopped having problems at the club, both in sports and out of sports, as well as numerous injuries. In 2018 his contract was terminated and he is currently in legal trouble with PSG.

Jesse Rodríguez:

PSG paid Real Madrid €25m in the summer of 2016 as he was one of Los Blancos’ new promises at the time, however he never featured well in France. Six months after joining the French team, he went on loan to Las Palmas. Today, he plays for Sampdoria fighting to avoid relegation to Serie B. Definitely one of the worst signings for the Parisian team in recent years.
