Al Nassr have been forced to postpone their first match in the Saudi Pro League since confirming the arrival of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo was officially unveiled as an Al Nassr player on Tuesday after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi outfit, which has made the 37-year-old the highest-paid player in football history.
Ronaldo began training with the club after the presentation at Mrsool Park, with his focus now on preparing for a much-anticipated debut in the Middle East.
Al-Nassr were due to return to action in the Saudi Pro League against Al-Ta’ee tonight, but the club have announced that the match has been postponed for 24 hours due to technical problems at their stadium caused by bad weather.
An official statement on Al-Nassr’s social media said: “Due to the heavy rain and weather conditions that have affected the electricity in the stadium, we have been officially notified that today’s match against Al Ta’i has been postponed for 24 hour. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the fans and wish everyone safe travels”.
