Klopp compares Nunez to Lewandowski

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he is not worried about Darwin Nunez’s missed chances in recent games, drawing comparisons with Robert Lewandowski’s early career at Borussia Dortmund.
Nunez has scored nine goals this season but has also missed numerous scoring opportunities

Klopp says Lewandowski was in similar form when he signed for Dortmund from Lech Poznan in 2010.

“There are a lot of similarities to be honest. I think Lewandowski would say the same. We had shooting practice sessions where he couldn’t finish any. We had bets of 10 euros each ‘if you score more than 10 times I will give you 10 euros, if you don’t score, you have to give it to me’. My pocket was full of money,” said Klopp.

“It’s all about being calm. When you see the opportunity, stay calm,” added the German coach.

Nunez demonstrated why Liverpool paid €75 million to sign him from Benfica this summer, scoring seven goals in 10 games before the start of the World Cup.
