Wayne Rooney has chosen Argentina to lift the World Cup for the third time in Qatar.
The former English representative believes that Argentina is the favorite to win the World Cup that will take place in Qatar
Rooney also believes that Argentina’s victory in the 2021 Copa America, beating Brazil to the title, has not only given the squad confidence but also eased the pressure on the players.
“For me, Argentina is the favorite. Unlike 2018, they have many good and strong players around Lionel Messi like Lautaro Martinez, Leandro Paredes, Rodrigo De Paul and of course Angel Di María. Winning the Copa America last year will have given them confidence and taken some of the pressure off them. The climate will suit them too”, he said in an interview for “The Times”.
