Real Madrid are preparing for their next league match, with Rayo Vallecano as their opponents.
Ahead of the clash, José Mourinho addressed several of the most discussed topics of the moment, speaking about Vinicius Junior’s situation and the stadium where, in his opinion, the World Cup final should be played.
Regarding Vinicius, Mourinho admitted that the reaction from the fans has saddened him, but stressed that the Brazilian has given a great deal to the Real Madrid shirt and that his best form will return.
“It is difficult for me not to feel sad. I am very demanding with my players and I respect those who give everything on the pitch. Vinicius has done a lot for this club. How many Champions League titles has he won here? How many goals has he scored? He is a tree full of fruit, and people throw stones because they want the fruit. The best version of Vinicius will come. The Vinicius of last season will return,” Mourinho said.
Morocco, Spain or Portugal?
During the press conference, Mourinho also spoke about the World Cup final, without hiding his preference for where he would like the match to be played.
“One thing is where the final should be played, and another is where I would like it to be played. I would love for it to be in Lisbon. If you can play in a mythical, historic stadium where some of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport have played, then the final should be played here, at the Bernabéu. And I would say the same thing even if I were the coach of Benfica,” Mourinho said.
