While waiting to see him in action wearing the Ravenna jersey, the ambitious Serie C club, Ronaldinho is preparing to make his move to France.
More specifically, he is set to enter the French basketball scene, where the 46-year-old will attempt to save AS Monaco, which has been excluded from the professional championships in this sport.
It is understood that Ronaldinho has made an official proposal together with the Andorran investment fund Clayton Sport.
According to the daily newspaper L’Équipe, the proposal has been presented to Monaco CEO Oleksiy Yefimov.
The Clayton Sport group is specifically prepared to settle AS Monaco’s €2.5 million debt with the EuroLeague and provide a €5 million bank guarantee required by the control bodies of the French Basketball Federation.
The project, which includes Ronaldinho becoming a shareholder as well as serving as an ambassador and public face of the club, has a projected duration of three to five years. According to TCH, the total investment is expected to reach around €10 million per season.
