Chelsea parted ways with manager Liam Rosenior two days ago following a heavy 3–0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, bringing an end to his brief 107-day spell in charge of the team.
According to foreign media reports, one of the main candidates to take over the “Blues” is Cesc Fabregas. The 38-year-old Spaniard has impressed as head coach of Como 1907, turning the team into a serious contender for a Champions League spot. In addition to Fabregas, other names mentioned for the Chelsea bench include Andoni Iraola, Xabi Alonso, and Julian Nagelsmann.
However, former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has publicly advised Fabregas not to accept the offer.
“Cesc Fabregas at Chelsea? No, no, no. If you have to choose between Chelsea and Barcelona, you definitely choose Barcelona. Chelsea is a mess, it’s chaos,” Petit stated.
He added that the situation at the London club is difficult for both coaches and players.
“It’s a nightmare for managers and, in a way, for players as well. You will find more calm at Barcelona, even though the pressure is high.”
