Manchester United have officially announced the appointment of Michael Carrick as the club’s head coach until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Carrick has an outstanding history with the club, having made 464 appearances and won five Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
After retiring from professional football in 2018, he joined the first-team coaching staff and worked under managers José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Following Solskjær’s departure, Carrick took charge of the club as interim head coach.
Before returning to Manchester United, the former England international served as head coach of Middlesbrough for two and a half years, starting in October 2022.
