Ruben Amorim is no longer the manager of Manchester United after 14 months in charge of the club.
The news was first reported by various English media outlets, and it has now been officially confirmed by the club.
The Red Devils have thanked the Portuguese coach for his contribution and wished him all the best.
“Ruben Amorim has left his position as Head Coach of Manchester United. Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to the Europa League final in Bilbao in May. With Manchester United currently sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership has reluctantly decided that now is the right time to make a change.
“This will give the team the best possible opportunity to achieve the highest possible finish in the Premier League.
“The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution and wishes him every success in the future. Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team against Burnley on Wednesday,” the Red Devils’ statement reads.
