Robert Lewandowski and Andreas Christensen will be free to hold talks with other clubs starting Thursday, January 1, 2026.
The duo are currently the only Barcelona players whose contracts expire in the summer of 2026.
According to FIFA and UEFA regulations, any footballer who enters the final six months of their contract is entitled to freely negotiate with other clubs without needing permission from their current club. In the case of Robert Lewandowski, it is reported that Barcelona have not yet opened concrete talks over a contract renewal. The Polish striker remains one of the key figures of the Catalan side, but his long-term future at Camp Nou is still unclear.

The situation with Andreas Christensen appears somewhat different. Sources close to the club indicate that Barcelona’s management have encouraged the Danish defender with an offer for a new contract, despite the fact that he has recently suffered a serious injury. This move is seen as a sign of trust in the player and an acknowledgment of his importance to the club’s project.

Nevertheless, with both Lewandowski and Christensen free to negotiate with other clubs from January, they may consider new alternatives for their future.
