Inter Miami made history tonight by winning their first-ever MLS Cup, following a 3–1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps.
In a dramatic final, Lionel Messi and his teammates secured the long-awaited trophy for David Beckham’s club — adding the 48th trophy to Messi’s career and further solidifying his position as the most decorated footballer in history, reports Gazeta Express.
The match began perfectly for Inter Miami, as in the 8th minute Vancouver defender Ocampo scored an own goal, giving Messi’s team an early lead.
Vancouver reacted in the second half and managed to equalize with Ahmed’s goal in the 60th minute, bringing the excitement back into the final. But Lionel Messi’s brilliance once again made the difference.
In the 71st minute, the Argentine delivered a magnificent assist to Rodrigo De Paul, who scored the decisive 2–1 goal — the strike that pushed Inter Miami toward their historic trophy.
Near the end of the match, in the 90+7 minute, Allende scored for 3–1 after yet another assist from Lionel Messi.
With this victory, Inter Miami wins the MLS Cup for the first time, crowning David Beckham’s project with a major title.
