Real Madrid want to continue adding quality to their squad in 2026, but one major player could be on his way to the Premier League.
Throughout this season, there have been rumours of dissatisfaction within Real Madrid’s first team. Vinicius Junior, who has also been linked with a possible departure, was involved in a heated confrontation with coach Xabi Alonso, who is said to have irritated several other players as well, including Federico Valverde.
It is reported that Valverde has a cold relationship with Alonso and, if the former Bayer Leverkusen coach remains on Real Madrid’s bench, this could push the Uruguayan midfielder to seek an exit. If that happens, the most likely destination would be the Premier League, where several clubs are interested in him.
One of those clubs is Manchester United, and according to reports from England (via CaughtOffside), the Old Trafford side want to replicate the transfers of Raphael Varane and Casemiro by now bringing in Valverde.
It is said that Manchester United are ready to submit an offer of around €80 million, although it is believed that Real Madrid value the versatile midfielder at over €100 million.
This means that for the moment, the player is expected to stay, even though the Premier League giants could return with a higher bid next summer.
Alonso has not yet found Valverde’s ideal role in his system, but once he does, the Uruguayan will surely be an undisputed starter. Therefore, there is little reason for Real Madrid to consider selling him, and it is also difficult to believe that the player himself would be interested in leaving the Bernabéu.
