“Twenty Very Short Poems”By : Abdel latif Moubarak….. Egyptian poet

* My gaze is fixed, and before it… vision falters.
* I knew the sea was mine… so I settled… into my depths.
* Whenever I woke and she was before my eyes… I wrapped myself in her and… slept.
* The sea is for me, and for her… my wildness.
* Because your love has a taste, a scent, and a color… it changes in my eyes… all the laws of the universe.
* She differs from the others by… my love for her.
* She is a master of lies yet believes me… when she says… daughter of the sun.
* My nationality is Egyptian and my heart is… searching for a homeland.
* Birth…
In her eyes, the birthplace of my heart.
* She beautified the powders of her face.
* She unbuttoned the dawn and called out to… the body of the day… and chained it with her light.
* I warned her of my passion… so she tamed all the wolves within me… after… she tore my shirt and was jubilant.
* Engraved on the heart… for the ships of the sun that set sail… into the abyss of its darkness.
* A madman…
To make her… set her love free… within my entrails.
* She kept the secret… so the blackness of the garment revealed it… to the reeds of women… I accepted condolences.
* A dying gasp… still besieges my lungs.
* Ah, from your salty… intoxication.
* That is how the serpent learned the body’s secret… to guard it.
* The heart mends… the thread of love… perhaps.
* I did not gather… my heart, threaded by her… unstrung necklace.
