Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires on June 30, and he could continue his career in Saudi Arabia.
The Reds rejected an offer from Al-Ittihad in 2023, which proposed €175 million as compensation, and now Al-Hilal is preparing to make Salah the highest-paid footballer in the world.
This club already boasts stars such as Malcom, Renan Lodi, Kalidou Koulibaly, Yassine Bounou, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Ruben Neves, and Joao Cancelo.
Salah is Liverpool’s highest-paid player, earning an annual salary of €22 million, but he is also the Reds’ most productive player, having scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists across all competitions this season.
Everyone at Liverpool would surely want him to stay at Anfield, especially since the club is likely to be without two key first-team players – Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk – this summer.
However, Salah is increasingly inclined toward the idea of continuing his career in Saudi Arabia, where many of the world’s top football stars are already playing.
It is worth remembering that the Egyptian forward is one of the greatest signings in Liverpool’s history, having scored 182 goals in 279 matches for the Reds since joining in 2017.
