Erling Haaland has signed an extraordinary contract with Manchester City that will keep him with the Premier League champions until 2034.
According to new reports, his weekly salary will break all records, making him the first footballer in England to earn over £500,000 per week, potentially reaching up to £750,000 per week, including bonuses and image rights—a sum that rivals Kylian Mbappé’s earnings at Real Madrid.
In his first season, Haaland scored 52 goals in all competitions, setting a new record for a Premier League player. In the following season, he continued with 38 goals in 45 appearances, and this year, he has already scored 16 goals in 21 league matches so far.
Haaland’s reaction to the new contract was full of enthusiasm.
“I am very happy to have signed the new contract and I can’t wait to spend even more time at this great club,” he said.
“Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people and amazing supporters, and it is an environment that helps bring out the best in everyone.”
Haaland thanked Pep Guardiola, his staff, and his teammates for their support and expressed his desire to continue developing and achieving further success with Manchester City.
