Neymar Junior is going through a difficult period marked by injuries and underwhelming performances in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal, but his dream remains to play in the 2026 World Cup with Brazil when he will be 34 years old.
In an interview with RMC Sport, he stated:
“Of course, it’s the goal of every player. I’ve played three times before, and I want to do it for the fourth time. I need to focus on this, prepare well here, and have this medium-term goal after my return to the club.”
In the recent past, Jorge Mas, co-owner of Inter Miami alongside David Beckham, spoke about the possibility of the former PSG player joining their team:
“The key word is whether he will be available. He is a player of Al-Hilal, and at the moment, he is not available. I’ve always said that we aspire to bring great players to our team; although we have many contractual limitations, we have an unlimited budget. If the opportunity arises to bring in a player of Neymar’s caliber, we will not hesitate. This doesn’t just depend on me but also on the player and his club.”
The 32-year-old Brazilian’s experience in Saudi Arabia has been marked by a long period of inactivity due to a serious injury sustained during a national team match in October 2023. Neymar, who is not included in the league squad list, returned a few weeks ago in an Asian Champions League match but was injured again. Now it seems that the Riyadh-based club is losing patience with him.
