Real Madrid Identifies Andriy Lunin’s Replacement

Andriy Lunin is considering leaving Real Madrid this summer in search of regular playing time elsewhere.

This is why the goalkeeper has not yet signed a contract extension with the club.

According to Relevo, Real Madrid is now planning to extend Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan from Chelsea for another year if Lunin ends up leaving.

The Spanish club had agreed on a deal with Lunin until the summer of 2029, but it was never signed as the goalkeeper insisted on playing in Euro 2024 before assessing his options.

While Lunin failed in his first match at the Euros, leading to a heavy defeat for his country, the Ukrainian is still considered a competent player with teams like Atletico Madrid and Arsenal reportedly monitoring him.

As for Kepa, he would be more than happy to play a backup role to Thibaut Courtois if Real Madrid decides to keep him. Everything now depends on what happens with Lunin.
