Barcelona was one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer window, spending over 153 million euros, despite the club facing problems in signing up players.
But despite this, the Spanish giant remains in a big deficit, while it is at least 102 million euros that Barcelona owes the captains, Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets.
They, in order to help the club in difficult moments, gave up part of the finances due to them, so they accepted the payment in installments and Barcelona is obliged to pay them until the end of 2024.
Of these, 52 million euros go to the defender, while 50 million euros go to the midfielder.
It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will be able to honor the contract or whether senior members of the squad will eventually have to seek them through the courts.
