The former coach of the Netherlands, Louis Van Gaal, has hinted that the World Cup “Qatar 2022” was arranged so that Lionel Messi would win it with Argentina.
The Tulipans were eliminated on penalties by the Albiceleste in the quarterfinals of this competition.
“When you see how Argentina behaves and how we behave… some Argentinian players overdid it and were not punished,” Van Gaal told NOS.
“That’s why I think everything was premeditated.”
Asked by the journalist if he thought that Messi should have won the World Cup with Argentina in any way, the Dutchman replied: “I think so”.
