Real Madrid have taken a significant step toward strengthening their defense after reaching a verbal agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella.
The news was reported by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, who revealed that the parties have found common ground to complete the deal.
According to Romano, an agreement has been reached among all parties involved, including the player himself, who has given the green light for a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Los Blancos have identified Cucurella as the ideal profile for the left side of their defense, while the financial details of the operation are expected to be disclosed in the coming days, reports Klankosova.tv.
The 27-year-old defender is set to leave Chelsea after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and join the Spanish giants for the upcoming season.
Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2022 and, during his time in London, established himself as one of the most important players in the club’s defensive unit, attracting interest from several major European clubs.
However, it now appears that his next destination will be Real Madrid.
