The Manchester City midfielder surprised with his latest statements by leaving the possibility of a move to Real Madrid open, despite his past at Atlético Madrid.
In an interview with Onda Cero, the Spaniard made it clear that his previous connection with Atlético is not a barrier to playing at the “Santiago Bernabéu,” reports Klankosova.tv.
“The fact that I played for Atlético doesn’t stop me from playing for Real Madrid,” he declared.
Rodri added that it is impossible to refuse the biggest clubs in the world, suggesting that an offer from the Madrid giant would be taken seriously.
He also commented on Real Madrid’s strength in European competitions: “They eliminated us, but that doesn’t mean anything. In the decisive stages of the Champions League, Real Madrid is always Real Madrid.”
Finally, the midfielder praised the atmosphere at the Bernabéu, calling it an extraordinary stadium and very imposing for opponents.
