Álvaro Arbeloa replaced Xabi Alonso this week, but the former Castilla coach is far from guaranteed to remain in charge for next season.
Arbeloa will have time to prove himself until the end of the season; however, the “Los Blancos” executives have already started exploring alternatives for the bench.
One name that continues to be strongly linked with the Madrid club is former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp. Media outlets reported earlier this week that the German would “seriously consider” an offer from Real Madrid, should one arrive.
Klopp himself had previously played down the rumors and had even criticized the way the club has been run following Xabi Alonso’s departure.
