FC Barcelona have identified Chelsea striker João Pedro as one of their main future targets for the attacking department.
According to Globo, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is close to a lucrative transfer to Al-Hilal, which has pushed the Catalan club to accelerate their search for a new attacking leader, reports RTKLive.
Sporting director Deco is leading the negotiations, while João Pedro is viewed as one of Barcelona’s long-term options alongside Julián Álvarez.
However, Chelsea are expected to resist any offer for the Brazilian forward, who has enjoyed a strong season, scoring 23 goals and providing 9 assists in 51 matches.
FC Barcelona believe that the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League could be a decisive factor in the race for the 24-year-old’s signature.
