Real Madrid’s management continues to work on finding a new midfielder. Names like Argentine Enzo Fernández and Portuguese Vitinha currently top the club’s shortlist.
Strengthening the midfield is one of Real Madrid’s main objectives ahead of the summer transfer window.

During this period, many players have been linked with the Madrid-based club, but according to well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano, the club has not yet made a final decision on the profile it wants to sign. He emphasized that internal discussions are ongoing regarding midfielders and that it is normal no final choice has been made yet.
According to him, Real Madrid will be active in the transfer market, but a final decision must be awaited before any concrete steps are taken toward signing a specific player.
Romano also added that there is a clear difference between the two main targets, Vitinha and Enzo Fernández.
He noted that Vitinha has previously stated he does not intend to leave Paris Saint-Germain and has no interest in a move to Real Madrid. In contrast, the situation with Enzo Fernández is different, as there are currently no contacts with the Madrid club, leaving more room for possible developments in the future.
Meanwhile, sources from British media outlet talkSPORT report that the Argentine midfielder could be open to leaving the London club where he currently plays, as he does not feel fully satisfied following changes on the bench, including the departure of Enzo Maresca.
According to these reports, Real Madrid is considered a suitable destination for the continuation of his career, although the Spanish club has not yet taken concrete steps to secure his transfer.
