Champions League Quarterfinals: Paris Saint-Germain eliminate Liverpool FC by defeating them again at Anfield in the second leg

Paris Saint-Germain have secured qualification to the Champions League semifinals by defeating Liverpool once again at Anfield. Luis Enrique’s team won 2–0 in the second leg and completed the tie with an aggregate score of 4–0, advancing convincingly.

The match started cautiously from both teams, but Liverpool suffered an early setback when forward Hugo Ekitike was forced off injured in the 31st minute and was replaced by Mohamed Salah.

The “Reds” had several good chances, with Milos Kerkez denied by Matvey Safonov in the 31st minute, while in the second half the PSG goalkeeper also stood out against Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha, keeping a clean sheet.

Liverpool also appealed for a penalty in the 65th minute after a challenge by Willian Pacho, but after a VAR review, referee Maurizio Mariani overturned the decision and allowed play to continue.

The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute, when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia delivered a pass to the edge of the box for Ousmane Dembélé, who struck accurately into the bottom-left corner to make it 0–1.

In stoppage time, PSG sealed the victory: in the 90+1 minute, Dembélé once again showed composure and scored his second goal to make it 0–2, completing his brace and putting the result beyond doubt.

With this win, PSG secure a place in the semifinals, while Liverpool bring their European campaign to an end.
