Brazil vs. Morocco Breaks FIFA World Cup Viewership Record

The 1-1 draw between Brazil and Morocco at the FIFA World Cup has made television history in the United States, setting a new viewership record on FOX.

According to FOX Sports, the match attracted an average of 10.019 million viewers on the English-language broadcast, making it the most-watched FIFA World Cup group-stage match ever in the United States outside of matches involving the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT).

Viewership peaked at 13.119 million viewers between 7:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. ET, highlighting the tremendous interest in the highly anticipated encounter.

Compared to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the figure represents an impressive 212% increase, while the average audience for non-USMNT matches during that tournament was approximately 3.21 million viewers.

FOX Sports also noted that this was the most-watched men’s FIFA World Cup group-stage broadcast in the history of English-language television in the United States.

The record underscores the growing global popularity of the FIFA World Cup and the enormous public interest in high-profile international clashes between football powerhouses such as Brazil and Morocco.
