Speaking to Real Madrid TV following his welcome ceremony at “Real Madrid City,” the Portuguese midfielder explained how he felt upon arriving at the club.
“I’m very happy. When you come here, you’re in this room with the president and they show you all the trophies.”
“I already knew how big Real Madrid are, but when you experience it up close, you really feel it. I’m very happy to be able to play for this club.”
Silva said that his desire to play for Real Madrid dates back to his childhood.
“Ever since I was a child, when I didn’t even know whether I would become a footballer or not, my dream was to play for a club like Real Madrid.”
“To be here, to play for this club, to try to win trophies and continue Real Madrid’s winning tradition is something very special.”
The midfielder revealed that he had no hesitation when Real Madrid expressed an interest in signing him.
“When Real Madrid called me, I had no doubts. When they called and told me they were interested, I immediately said yes without thinking twice, because I believe it is the best choice for me, for my career and for my family. Being here is a dream,” he concluded.
