Arsenal Pull Out of Vinicius Pursuit as Brazilian Nears Real Madrid Contract Renewal

Arsenal have reportedly ended their pursuit of Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior after days of intense speculation linking the Brazilian forward with a potential move to the Premier League.

According to British media, the Gunners had prepared a remarkable offer to bring the attacker to North London if contract renewal talks between Vinicius and Real Madrid were to collapse.

The 26-year-old had yet to reach an agreement over a new deal with the Spanish giants, with negotiations having been underway since late 2025. His current contract with Los Blancos has now entered its final 12 months.

It was believed that any club hoping to lure Vinicius away from the Santiago Bernabéu would have to submit an offer exceeding £120 million, a figure Arsenal were reportedly willing to meet if the opportunity arose.

However, the latest reports from Arsenal’s camp suggest that the London club have accepted defeat in the race for the Brazilian international. Sources close to Vinicius have informed the Premier League champions that the player’s priority is to remain in Madrid and sign a lucrative new long-term contract with Real Madrid.

Although Arsenal will continue to monitor the situation, manager Mikel Arteta is already exploring alternative options to strengthen his attack. One of the club’s long-term targets remains Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
