Barcelona have reportedly decided to finally sign defender Joao Cancelo from Manchester City after his loan spell ends at the end of the season.
According to Roger Torello of Mundo Deportivo newspaper, Barcelona have made the final decision to sign Cancelo next summer.
Both Xavi and sporting director Deco are in strong agreement that Cancelo is vital to the project and should be signed up as part of the squad next season.
However, Cancelo still belongs to Manchester City, who have him under contract until the summer of 2027.
Recent reports suggest that City now value the player at around €25m with the defender set to turn 30 next May.
Barca are ready to enter into a lengthy negotiation that will see them lower the final price for the Portuguese.
